2013 Year In Review

Where do I start? So many things have happened and kept me busy through the year. I've switched up vehicles a few times, priorities both at home & work have changed, and even how I spend my free time has gone through some revisions over the year.

As far as projects at work, I've spent time on an Android mobile app, a small Python Flask app, a few Rails web apps, embedded microcontroller firmware, did a heck of a lot of devops work, delved into machine learning, and hacking on a Windows based vending machine.

What will 2014 bring? A lot from the sound of it! My next few months look to be pretty busy at LeanDog with a plethora of interesting projects on deck, and my wife & I are expecting our third child.

Harbor Freight in Streetsboro, OH

How excited am I that Harbor Freight is opening a store in Streetsboro, OH? VERY! Now instead of driving about an hour to visit a store, I will have one about 15 minutes away. While they have a lot of stuff I wouldn't bother spending my hard-earned money on, their air tools, gloves, saw blades and a few other items are completely worth spending money on. Also, if you only use a tool 1-2 times a year, why spend big bucks on a name brand tool if Harbor Freight happens to carry the same thing?

Where is the new store? At the site of the old Carpet & Tile Liquidators next to Staples and it is slated to open in January 2014.
